HENRY I can climb a sycamore And tell you all the things I can see. MUDGE I can smell a rabbit hole And take you there if you come with me. HENRY Everyday there’s a new place to go. MUDGE I can catch every ball you throw. HENRY Henry and Mudge, MUDGE Henry and Mudge, BOTH Sharing a sandwich and a day. I can build a camping tent, And go to sleep right here on the lawn. MUDGE I can watch for booby traps And wake you so that you see the dawn. HENRY Our adventures are just at the start. We’ll be Scratching and teasing and having a blast. ‘Cause our friendship will always last. HENRY I don’t know if a boy and his dog really matter much... MUDGE Bugs! HENRY At all. When the ball’s in the air and somehow he knows where it will fall. MUDGE Flies, ants, lady bugs. HENRY And once in while, Mudge will sit down and smile, Even before I can call. So maybe a boy and his dog really matter after all. MUDGE You can be my family and I can keep you safe every night. HENRY You can be my family and I can hold you tight through the night.
